Rattail is a registered trademark of the manufacturer of the rayon satin cord. Rayon is a high-quality satin cord manufactured in the USA. It has a shiny look and a silky feel. Satin is not a fabric type - it refers to the way a fabric is woven to produce a shiny side and a matte side. For satin cord, the shiny part is on the outside of the cord. Rattail is great for braiding Kumihimo and for projects such as micro macrame, Chinese knotting, bead cord, trims, laces, bridal veils, wedding favors, scrap-booking, ties and even shoelaces.
